Accessibility Statement

The accessibility statement applies to the Buddy Healthcare Care Coordination Platform. The Accessibility Statement is constantly reviewed and actioned with the latest undertaken on 20.11.2024.

Fulfilment of requirements

The Buddy Healthcare Care Coordination Platform fully conforms to the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 (WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2). For each version of WCAG the compliance meets the conformance levels of A and AA (for details see https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/).

Compliance of the solution is regularly reviewed and subject to internal and external audit. Most recently, the solution has been subject to external review by The Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps (ORCHA) and achieved the highest level of conformance.

For continuity and completeness, the below details the last observations undertaken as a result of an external review with the associated Buddy Healthcare conformance statement.

WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) and WCAG 1.4.11 Non-text Contrast

The visual presentation of text and images of text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1; The visual presentation of the following have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1 against adjacent colours

The standard colour scheme of the solution has been changed to meet contrast requirements. In addition, the solution colour schemes are fully configurable to ensure any future contrast requirements can be met.

WCAG 1.3.4 Orientation

Content does not restrict its view and operation to a single display orientation, such as portrait or landscape, unless a specific display orientation is essential.

The Patient Engagement App. works in both landscape and portrait modes. On mobile phones, to ensure the relevant content is visible on patient screens e.g. questionnaires, the Patient Engagement App. works in portrait mode.

WCAG 3.3.1 Error Identification

If an input error is automatically detected, the item that is in error is identified and the error is described to the user in text.

The solution can be configured to respond to any data submitted or not submitted into a form, such as displaying an associated message. This message can be configured to display a notification of error.

WCAG 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication

A cognitive function test (such as remembering a password or solving a puzzle) is not required for any step in an authentication process unless that step provides another authentication method that does not rely on a cognitive function test or a mechanism is available to assist the user in completing the cognitive function test.

The solution conforms to the requirements ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus for user authentication this includes the capability to copy and paste authentication details as required.
