Kymenlaakso Wellbeing Services County and Buddy Healthcare have signed a multi-year agreement to develop care coordination. The agreement provides a foundation for long-term collaboration, enabling the systematic development of care coordination processes across both specialised care and primary care.
The partnership builds on the results already achieved. To date, care coordination processes have been digitalised and automated across 14 clinical specialities within Kymenlaakso Wellbeing Services County in collaboration with Buddy Healthcare. Under the new agreement, this work can continue based on consistent operating models, with results monitored systematically throughout the contract period.
The objective is to establish a unified approach to care coordination across Kymenlaakso Wellbeing Services County and to develop care processes in a way that enables digital solutions to support both the smooth delivery of services and the work of healthcare professionals.
Digitalisation should make it easier for our customers to access the services they need, while improving the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of those services. We aim to increase our service capacity, reduce manual work, and improve visibility into the progress of care processes. Our previous experience of working together has created a strong foundation for continuing this work as part of the new contract period, says Lauri Lehto, Director, Strategy and Integration Services, Kymenlaakso Wellbeing Services County.
As part of the collaboration, Kymenlaakso Wellbeing Services County and Buddy Healthcare will also develop a framework for measuring the impact of care coordination. This will enable evaluation of care process efficiency, cost-effectiveness and the benefits of digital services for patients, healthcare professionals and the organisation as a whole.
Providing patients with the right instructions at the right time is no longer enough in healthcare. It is equally important for healthcare professionals to have visibility into how patients are progressing through their care processes and which patients need additional support. Based on predefined criteria, Buddy Healthcare’s system highlights situations where a patient may need additional guidance, support or follow-up. This enables healthcare professionals to focus their time on situations where their expertise can provide the greatest benefit. The multi-year agreement enables the long-term development of care coordination and the monitoring of its impact across both specialised care and primary care, says Jussi Määttä, CEO of Buddy Healthcare.
